I was born in Ilhavo, Portugal, in 1968. A small town by the sea, a town of sailors. The ocean, the sky, have always been in my dreams. I'm a Civil Engineer.

 

I'm a professor of Civil Engineering at University of Aveiro. Teach, research, design, management. Structural design. Concrete, timber, equations, finite elements.

 

I believe in poetry. Poetry can be everywhere. In poems, in images, in music, in sculpture, in nature, but also in gestures, in people, in numbers, in equations. It can be wherever we can see beauty. And for that, we just need the right eyes.

 

I love to take photos. They can distort reality and show a personal perspective of the world.
